Cantine Pierino Vellano
Description / History
The first winery owned by the Vellano family in Camino Monferrato dates back to the 17th century. The remains, very impressive, are still to be visited today. At the end of the 18th century, a new winery was built in the heart of the village of Castel San Pietro. It has now been restored and transformed into the Aquavitae spa of the family owned Resort.
The present wineries were built by Pierino Vellano, father of today’s owner Maurizio. They are placed in the valley below and date back to the late ‘50s. The first vintage produced here is the historical one of 1961. Towards the end of the ‘90s Maurizio rejoined the family activity after a period abroad and with careful restoration work, gave birth to Cà San Sebastiano Wine Resort&SPA.
