Description / History

With 150 hectares spread across Rioja Alta, the towns of Cenicero, Briones, Bañares, Rodezno and Haro, Bodega Perica produces wine of grapes from several micro climates. The oldest vines are over 60 years old, and the grapes from these vines are used in the flagship wine Perica Oro.
2 Singular Vineyards (DOCa) are owned by the family in San Asensio, the heart of La Rioja Alta. One designated for Viura (Finca Santa Julita) and one for Tempranillo (Finca Valdecarretas).

David García is the 3rd generation to lead the winery to new heights. The winery was founded in 1912 by Don Juan García who mainly produced wine for domestic and local consumption. Rafael García is one of the sons of David and he is the oenologist at the Estate and he, with help from his team, manually harvest, pick and select the grapes. Once ready they go into 225-litre American and French oak barrels.

The objective is really to put the terroir in a bottle. That is exacly what you can expect from some of the best vineyards in La Rioja Alta.
