Description / History
Erzsébeth (Elizabeth) Prácser was one of the first female winemakers in Tokaj. She founded the family winery in 1989, which was a year of political change in Hungary. The cellar they acquired was a historical one. It was dug in the 1600s and rented by Russian Emperors for storing Aszú wines in the 1700s.
The vineyards are run by applying a sustainable and organic approach. Back in the 1700s the lots were classified as Crus; Grand Cru and Premier Cru. Today they produce exceptional single-vineyard Azsú and dry wines.
The region was under volcanic activity 15 million years ago. Today you will find a variation of volcanic rocks in Tokaj, along with variations of different soils and several rivers. These factors provide great conditions for amazing wine, which is what Erzsébet Cellars offers you.
The family is working with Master of Wine and Master Sommelier to assist in the quality and blending process. Therefore you can easily sit back and enjoy the beautiful wines coming out of Erzsébet Cellars.
If you are new to Hungarian wine Erzsébet Cellars is a great place to start!

For years, one of the most refreshing aspects of BORIGO tastings has been Erzsébet Cellar in Tokaj, whose wines have shown continuous improvement. Then in our February tastings—overwhelmingly, with their single vineyard dry wines—the winery brought a new quality standard to the Tokaj foothills
